Top 22 things I’ve learned or lived in 2022, which might make you think?
1. Be Present
Yesterday is gone, and you’ve learned, even if it wasn’t a total success. Tomorrow isn’t here yet. Remember most things, in reality, are never as bad as the thoughts our “protective” brains put together to protect us, so dive into them challenges, plan things, and give them a go. Well done is better than well said.
2. Being able to say no and being able to say yes
Understand what truly makes you happy and live it. Being honest but nice is the best option for all involved. You’ve got to do some things yourself if you want to get them done.
3. Balance
Starting and Stopping. Don’t overthink the start, just start; a walk, a diet, going to the gym, or a new hobby or habit. Stop each day to “slow down” a little, sit, and do nothing, 10 minutes is a good start.
4. Do things you value which add to your daily existence
These will be maintained. Try things, and find out really what you’re all about.
5. Don’t focus on the big goal or the endpoint
Enjoy the journey and the daily activities, these will take you there if you do this. Some things you’re going to be no good at, that doesn’t matter, learn, however some things you will be surprised at how good you are.
6. Do you first
There’s no one coming to rescue you that’s your job. Be you, do you, everyone else is taken.
7. The power of knowing
If you can find something out by “actioning “ it, do it. Just doing things sometimes takes less energy than thinking about the thing continuously.
8. Remember to control the controllables and to do your best
You can’t control everything and everyone. Accept that you can only do you, you can prompt people but accept control of anything starts and ends with you, in reality. They are doing the best for them. One thing you can choose and control here, which is a game changer is your attitude.
9. Take your own advice first
You know you best, you might not be right but that’s ok, which is another one, If you’re wrong about something, own it, and don’t let your ego get in the way.
10. Habit link
Do something you enjoy along with something you know will truly benefit you, favourite music and walking as an example.
11. Nothing that’s worth achieving comes easy
Get used to being uncomfortable, this is an expansion of your uncomfortable zone, you’ve got to burst through these self-inflicted barriers in order to grow. I am more capable than I thought I was and most likely you are too.
12. Reward yourself on the journey
13. A plan will always drive you forward when accompanied by action.
The plan doesn’t need to be complicated to achieve great results. It may be faster than you think, it may be slower than you think but action gives results every time. A step forward, winning or learning. If you learn one thing whilst taking action, job done. Action is the only answer to change.
14. Some people say age brings wisdom but what if it’s just that the older you get the more action you’ve seen?
So get more action to increase your wisdom.
15. You will get good days and you will get bad days.
Understand what can help here. Understand why it’s good or bad, what happened yesterday is probably a good place to start.
16. Cold water immersion
It has been life-changing for me. Not only do you get all the scientific-based evidence, but for me it makes you present, creates space, and puts things into perspective.
17. Take a moment or two
A pause when making decisions allows you time to think about the positives and negatives when deciding.
18. Feeling is different to knowing or thinking
19. Giving is better than getting
20. Data drives decisions
Log your things down to help you understand them, Simple systems and processes keep you on track if you do them even if you don’t feel like it. You always feel better once they are done. Always. It could be calories, water intake, steps, finances, habits, mood, energy levels, or sleep quality. Review what you do, what worked and why? What needs more work, changed or removed and why?
21. Repetition creates consistency
Consistency creates chances, chances to learn, chances to adapt, and chances to grow. Consistency creates champions, daily rituals or habits, time, and consistency.
22. Make every day count
Thanks for reading, hope these made you think and look forward to an awesome 2023.
